As a 24 Hour Emergency Medical Technician Refresher/Transition course as defined in the 2009 National EMS Education Standards, approved by the Commission on Accreditation for Pre-Hospital Continuing Education (CAPCE) F5 Course, the EMS 203 (F5) - NREMT Refresher (Virtual Instructor Led Training) Course meets Section I requirements of the NREMT recertification brochure and is considered to be a "Traditional Refresher" according to the NREMT Recertification Brochure. Some states require skills competency verification. We offer this service in Arizona, California, and Texas If you are not located in any of these states, Contact Your State EMS Office to find a list of training centers that can assist you with this requirement.

Additionally, for the EMS 203B - NREMT Refresher Additional EMS Related Continuing Education Course, the NREMT will provide up to 24 hours of continuing education credit under Section II of the NREMT Recertification Brochure. The NREMT provides the credit because we are a CAPCE Accredited Provider. Many states, such as California and Texas provide for recertification based upon CE hours. You can also check with your State EMS Authority for further information regarding acceptance and requirements.

In addition to the EMS 203 (F5) - NREMT Refresher (Virtual Instructor Led Training) Course above, the EMS 203B - NREMT Refresher Additional EMS Related Continuing Education Course meets NREMT Section II requirements for recertification. I'm moving out of state or hold certification in a state other than the state I am moving into. How do I become certified to practice as an EMT where I am moving or to recertify my NREMT?

Each state has unique requirements for entry into their state as an initial EMT. Most states, however, will accept NREMT certification in order to initially become an EMT. Our EMS 203 (F5) - NREMT Refresher (Virtual Instructor Led Training) Course meets Section I under the NREMT Recertification Brochure. The EMS 203B - NREMT Refresher Additional EMS Related Continuing Education Course will meet Section II requirements. The NREMT provides the credit because we are a CAPCE Accredited Provider. You can also check with your State EMS Authority for further information regarding acceptance and requirements.

How long after passing the course will I receive proof of taking the NREMT Refresher Course?

Your course validation certificate will be available immediately upon course completion. Therefore, as soon as you have completed and successfully passed the final examination, you will be issued your validation certificate.

How do I recertify my EMT Certification?

The EMS 203 (F5) - NREMT Refresher (Virtual Instructor Led Training) Course meets Section I requirements of the NREMT recertification brochure and is considered to be a "Traditional Refresher" according to the NREMT Recertification Brochure. Some states require skills competency verification. We offer this service in Arizona, California, and Texas If you are not located in any of these states, Contact Your State EMS Office to find a list of training centers that can assist you with this requirement.

You can also meet NREMT Recertification requirements under Section II, through Continuing Education credits, if your state allows for it, you may use our course to recertify as an EMT, by taking our Commission on Accreditation for Pre-Hospital Continuing Education (CAPCE) Approved EMT Refresher Course through Additional Continuing Education (CE) Hours. The NREMT permits 24 hours of CE to be obtained exclusively online, without the Virtual Instructor course as discussed above.. The NREMT permits up to 24 hours of continuing education credit under Section II of the NREMT Recertification Brochure. The NREMT provides the credit because we are a CAPCE Accredited Provider. You can also check with your State EMS Authority for further information regarding acceptance and requirements.

(Note to Student: If you are using this course to meet transition requirements, please contact your state EMS Authority for verification. In any case, the course is still good towards NREMT Section II Recertification requirements).

What information will be listed on my certification?

The certification will state the name of the student, training program name and number (as authorized by the state), the program director's signature, and the following topic areas and hours:

Do you offer the EMT Challenge Course?

NOTE: AS OF OCTOBER 1, 2013, EMS UNIVERSITY NO LONGER OFFERS THE EMT CHALLENGE COURSE

Does your course include Skills Verification?

No. You must register for this course separately. We offer this course in San Diego, CA. If you would like to register, you can complete the Skills Competency Verification by going to www.sandiegoemtrefresher.com. In this case, students are provided with a Skills Competency Verification form good for recertification as required by the California EMSA. Note: There is an additional fee for Skills Competency Verification.

My State/County certification lapsed. Can I get it back?

Some states permit re-entry or certification after a lapse of certification based upon obtaining a certain number of CEs. The NREMT requires that you take a state approved EMT Refresher Course as well as pass the cognitive and psychomotor examinations. You can use this course in California to meet the requirements for the EMT Refresher portion, however, you will still be required to take the psychomotor exam and cognitive examination. The psychomotor examination is available in San Diego at www.sandiegoemtrefresher.com. You will select the Skills Competency Verification option. Note: There is an additional fee for Skills Competency Verification. Please see the NREMT Lapsed Certification Policy for more information regarding NREMT requirements. You can also check with your State EMS Authority for further information regarding acceptance and requirements.

How long is the NREMT Refresher course?

The EMS 203 (F5) NREMT Refresher Course is Virtual Instructor Led Training which is conducted per the schedule as shown by Clicking Here. The course is 24 Hours in length. The EMS 203B - NREMT Refresher Additional EMS Related Continuing Education Course is 24 hours, completed entirely online, at your convenience.

What if I fail the exam?

The score to pass and receive your validation certificate is 75%. You are permitted to take the exam a maximum of 3 times prior to being required to take the course all over again. If you must repeat the course, we can offer you a discounted rate. Ask your instructor for details.

Can you explain what is included in the course?

All classes include didactic, written and audiovisual materials to enhance learning. In addition, there is a written exam required by the state at the end of each course. Passing with a grade of 75% or better is required to obtain your validation certificate. You can see the course summary by clicking here.

What is the cost?

The cost to take the EMS 203 (F5) NREMT Refresher (Virtual Instructor Led Training Course) is $247.50. The EMS 203B - NREMT Refresher Additional EMS Related Continuing Education Course is $140.13. Also, please keep in mind that we promise the lowest price for the Section II Compliant Course, eligible for CE credit toward recertification. In the event that you find a lower price, we can provide an additional 10% off the competitor's price. This way you receive the lowest possible price for your recertification.

How do I get a receipt for my payment?

Be sure to include the email address, payment method, and the last 4 numbers of your credit card. We try to make it as easy as possible for you. We can email, fax or mail your receipt. It says my payment cannot be accepted, what is the problem?
